Rusalki

Slavic water spirits that live in rivers. Details are highly contradictory (like all nature spirits they're inspired by their environment, and Eastern Europe is an area of contrasts), but most commonly they are ghosts of women who have either been murdered or committed suicide, with long dishevelled hair.
